SHILOH THRIFT SHOP
The Shiloh Thrift Shop was opened in 1968 after the new United Methodist Church building on Indian Head Highway at Bryans Road was completed. The shop is located in the old church building that was originally built in 1881. The Shop supports the community by offering the most reasonably priced clothing, shoes, boots and accessories for men women and children including a wide variety of infant clothing, etc. Many folks in the community rely on the thrift shop for their clothing needs as a good alternative to retail shopping which is often unaffordable. The church is also a member of Neighbors Eager to Serve (NETS). NETS was founded in May 2000 and has grown dramatically over the past three years. NETS is supported by the President regarding faith-based organizations that help their local communities. Senator Middleton, Mayor Bowie and directors from all of the county services led the kick-off for NETS. Currently there are 17 churches in the community that support NETS. NETS has a point of contact for the Red Cross, Life Style, Angel Watch, Christmas in April, The Shiloh Thrift Shop and the NETS Food Pantry. They support these organizations in providing assistance to the needy and for victims of fire and other disasters. The Shiloh Thrift shop is on-call through NETS to assist the people in our community.
The Thrift Shop was closed during the past few months for clean up and restocking. We are proud to announce the grand reopening on Saturday, February 28, 2004.
